Billions spent on art
$150 billion dollars are spent on art and culture in the United States every year. Ponder that amount. That is ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND MILLION dollars! Think about even a tiny portion of that amount that consumers spend on art for their homes. Do you think that you as an artist can make a living selling yours? You betcha you can!
This is the perfect time to be an artist. People love to decorate and remodel their homes and you may have the perfect piece for them. Have you seen the Robert Motherwell modern art painting that Jennifer Aniston bought for $1.2 million in the March 2018 issue of Architectural Digest magazine? Check it out and then tell me that your work isn’t just as well done or as interesting as that piece. It is all a matter of perspective and marketing.
The sky is the limit
There seem to be certain rules to be followed, but once you the artist learn those rules then you can take off with your career. As I research the ways to become a successful artist it seems that once you find your “voice” and you produce the product that speaks
your unique voice and you put effort into marketing your work the sky is the limit. It is just as in any other business it takes time, persistence, a thick skin and desire. It takes the burning desire to want to get your work out there and make money at what you love to do.
This isn’t a dress rehearsal. This is the time you have been given and it is up to you to decide how you are going to spend it. Do you want to live doing things that you don’t enjoy or do you want to spend your hours doing the things that you love? Your life is your blank canvas. You get to decide what you create.
Enjoy your journey…
