Woody Paradise is an original 24 x 30 inches oil painting on canvas in the style of contemporary realism. A limited number of 100 high quality giclee prints, signed and numbered, are offered for purchase.
A collector commissioned Kristen to paint a tropical paradise for him. This man loved old classic cars, Woody automobiles, tropical Hawaii and surfing. She put together a painting for him that he could look at and picture himself sitting there, on the beach in a comfortable wooden chair, his feet in the sand while watching the surf.
It was a way for him to destress during the day during his hectic busy work schedule. He said he wanted his tropical paradise to reflect simplicity and the way he had lived as a teenager when hanging out at the beach in Southern California and catching ocean waves were all that mattered. This collector wanted to be able to look at the painting and feel relaxed. Kristen chose a blue shack, surrounded by sand, tropical colorful flowers, palm trees blowing in the ocean breeze, blue surf, a red Woody automobile and a pair of white wooden beach chairs.
“When I get a request for a painting I get a picture in my head of what the person wants. I definitely saw lots of colors for this painting. Tropical is one of my favorite subject matters to paint or draw. I lived in Hawaii for a few years when I was younger. I turned 21 years old in Hawaii and I lived on Oahu for about three years. I would go to the north shore of the island, to Pipeline and Sunset Beach as much as possible.
The lifestyle is so laid back on the islands I completely “got” what this collector wanted. Hawaii does feel like a second home to me so getting a request to paint a tropical island paradise was perfect.”
This is an original “Woody Paradise” oil painting on a large white canvas.
